“IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES” BANDIT ROBS BANK IN WESTLAKE VILLAGE TODAY, SUSPECTED IN ELEVEN BANK ROBBERIES SINCE DECEMBER

The FBI and multiple police departments in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a bank robber known as the Irreconcilable Differences Bandit, an unidentified white male bandit investigators believe is responsible for robbing eleven banks since December 22^nd, 2006, and a separate street robbery in the city of Beverly Hills on December 14^th, 2006.   The bandit is most recently linked to a bank robbery that occurred today at 954 Westlake Blvd. in Westlake Village.  During today’s robbery, the bandit threatened a weapon and demanded the large bills before exiting the bank.

During the first bank robbery on December 22^nd in Beverly Hills, the Irreconcilable Differences Bandit approached the counter and told the victim teller he was going through a divorce and that he needed help in wiring money.  The bandit requested that the wire transfer be done is such a way so that his wife’s attorney would not learn of it.  The bandit then instructed the teller to read a note on which he demanded money, and then verbally threatened a gun and a bomb.  In at least one robbery, a witness reported that the subject brandished a revolver.  The unidentified male is described below and has been seen leaving the bank robberies in an older white Honda Accord. 

           

            Height:                          5’8” to 5’9”

            Weight:                         150 - 175 lbs.

            Age:                             45 to 55

            Build:                            Medium

            Hair:                             Sandy or salt & pepper, worn short

            Facial Hair:                    Clean shaven

            Apparel:                        Polo shirt, pants, nylon jacket and aviator-style sunglasses

Weapon:                       Threatens weapon and brandished in at least one robbery
